Abstract

Swachh Bharat Mission is a people's movement which has become a matter of countrywide discussion. To promote this idea Indian companies have enthusiastically joined in the mission and extended full support to this cause. Changing the mindset of the people and encouraging them to be cleanliness conscious is the most important part of this mission. The present paper highlights some of the important guidelines for corporate especially CPSEs according to the new companies act 2013.The purpose of this paper is to bring sight to the strategic initiatives taken by various public and private enterprises in the light of “Swachh Bharat Mission”. It also describes how CSR activities diverged towards swachh bharat campaign with the inclusion of swachh bharat mission in the list of CSR activities. .The paper is purely secondary in nature as it is based on annual reports of companies, various journals and articles. In the end, an attempt is made to give suggestions accordingly.
