Abstract:

Emotional intelligence is an excellent correlates of employees job success as it enables employees to understand others emotional expression and reactions and utilize such knowledge to manage and influence others through emotional regulation and control. It also represents a critically important competence for effective team performance in present organizations. Previous researches have been indicated that there is need to find out the factors causing employees job involvement. Among many factors, Emotional intelligence of employees may be one of the prominent factors for employees' high job involvement. This paper aims to study the relationship between emotional intelligence and job involvement in an IT company. To investigate the same relationship, this study adopted the survey research methodology and data were collected from 200 employees of an IT company using questionnaire comprising of standardized tools.
